A Woman's Blood

blood of the woman,
blood of the hole

in the blood of the hole
there is beauty and grace

the man who can see it,
can see all that blood

can see all that blood
and sees wounded and cursed

the man who can see it,
can see all that blood

if his eyes are flooded
with danger and wounds

when woman is blooded
in his eyes a wound

close him off, shut him off
way outside the camp

NaPoWriMo Day 24

Once again, Google translate has some interesting translations 😉 And I like sharing them backwards as I did once before! Maybe I’ll make this a standard feature of my posts…

My female blood is pure
Adam because there was a plague in his eyes
And handed over outside the camp

In my blood a woman purified a man because he had a plague in his eyes and turned it away from the camp
[yowza!!]

In my blood a female purified a man because a plague was in his eyes and turned away

In my blood a woman purified a man because a plague was in his eyes and betrayed him

My female blood purified a man because there was a plague in his eyes

In the blood of a female purity of man that touched touched

In the blood of a female purity is a man that touched

In female blood purity is that person

In the blood of a female purity of man

My female blood is pure

In my female blood

n my blood בדמי

  1. This is brilliant. Starting with the ominous tone of the repetition, I can’t read it without chanting the lines… like a heartbeat that has been resonating through history. Then one gets smacked by the force, truth, and beauty of the second stanza. Which, I feel, is made even better by the final warning–if someone sees her nature as horror, then that person shouldn’t be allowed a place of power in her life. Brilliant and then some.
