The Importance of Contact and Community

This whole short video is worth a watch. The part that struck me most was when Shulem talks about what blogging did for him, how it affected him. It is so powerful to know you’re not alone, to know there are other like you – whether in the exact situation you’re in, or in one that is similar but in a different religion etc. A large part of the reason I blog is this: it began as a way to get validation, as Shulem says happened for him. And it continues as a way to reach out and touch even one reader who says “oh, look, someone else thinks and feels the same things I do! I’m not crazy or alone!”
