Eyes fill with red and she keeps it untold
Bursting with red the lids almost can’t hold
Vessels strain out and her fingers press tight
Red floods her vision, blocks all else from sight
Wanting to emanate, barred from its goal
Red now turns inward, storming her soul
Red not suppressed, just diverted the flood
She’s bleeding her tears and crying her blood

I wrote this poem a few months ago but it didn’t feel right to share it. Now it does feel right, now that I read this poem.
